Sloan’s Lake Park
Beautiful day at the park.
First cool, breezy day of the season. Gorgeous. Sun sparkled off the lake, clouds scudded across the sky. Sailboats, Jazz on the Jetty Festival. People fishing (don’t know whether you need a permit). A wedding on the western bridge. I walked the 2.5 mile path around the lake (3.5 mi if you take the outer perimeter near the roads).
Views of the mountains. Old and new residential architecture surrounding park. Plenty of parking in various lots on any side of the park.
I discovered today that they now have a gravel walking/running path that weaves in and out of the concrete path around the entire lake. Much easier on the joints!
On the west side of park (Sheridan), you can cross the street and have a Starbucks or venture into old Edgewater for a sit down meal at the old neighborhood restaurants and newer offerings: Italian, Thai, south of the border, etc.
Great area to explore.
