This was our third time staying at the Mt Hope cabins, second time that we stayed at the Moose cabin. The overall experience was great and we love the amazing views from the kitchen. I highly recommend this property or any of the surrounding ones!

The most beautiful view we’ve ever had during any stay in Colorado. The property overlooks Twin Lakes, plus there was the added benefit of the September fall colors. We visited Aspen via Independence Pass, Crested Butte via Cottonwood Pass, as well as Leadville and Buena Vista. Our unit had all amenities listed and the kitchen provided all items needed for preparing our meals. Some might find the unit cramped for a 2-bedroom, but the three of us were comfortable enough. We had no issues with the units being close as the others were respectful. I recognize what other reviewers have commented as to cleanliness and condition; however, we would stay there again.

Amazing stay!!! My husband, pug and I loved every minute!!! You can't beat the views from the patio!!!! Comfortable beds, nice living room area and overall amazing place! Wish I got to stay longer! My dog wanted to move to Colorado after that stay 🤣

A breath taking view of Twin lakes and the surrounding mountains. The Queen bed was extremely comfortable and there is extra linens to use. We cooked meals on the grill and in the kitchen. The space to eat outside was picture perfect.

The Moose Meadow cabin was perfect for our 4-day getaway to the mountains. We stayed 3 nights with our dog and loved it. It has everything you need for adventuring during the day and coming back in the evening to relax. The views are stunning! Photos can't really capture the rugged beauty and massiveness of being surrounded by 13 and 14K peaks! Check-in and communication were all very smooth...would recommend the Moose!

this home was so beautiful , you can see the lake right out the window which was amazing to wake up to and to see the moon light up at night. Everything in the home felt cozy and like they were definitely thinking about the people that would be staying with them, comfortable bed and soft sheets. games to play if you are stuck inside, and I did not have a pet but the home was very pet friendly! I would 100% stay here again.

This cabin was absolutely beautiful with amazing surroundings that allowed for a refreshing and peaceful stay. It had all the amenities we needed, and we were grateful for the washer and dryer and all the cookware provided. It was confusing to figure out which cabin was ours from the road, because the sign on front was faded, and when I called the host number, the woman sounded like she had no idea what the property looked like or what was around it, as if she was a third party agent. We got help from an onsite maintenance man who luckily was there. Additionally, there was some dust, especially visible under beds and on some decor, but that didn't negatively impact our experience. We all really enjoyed our time at the cabin and would stay again.

Moose Meadow was a great getaway. It was very beautiful
Moose Meadow was a great getaway. It was very beautiful lodge away from the city. It is about a 30 minute drive to the start of Mt. Elbert South hiking trail, and the roads up to the lodge are gravel. Lots of construction / new homes being built in the neighborhood. Very safe, however the bathroom window wasn’t locked when we arrived. Comfortable beds, clean lodge, and beautiful views.

Leadville Getaway
The stay with The Moose Meadow was wonderful. I was running the Leadville Marathon and needed a place to stay before race day. The cabin was perfect. The host was very responsive and informative. I would definitely recomend and stay again!

We went early April but I’m sure in winter months a 4 wheel drive car would be necessary. The location is quiet and peaceful. The gas grill came in handy! The cabin is a cozy place with the perfect amount of amenities. The only thing I might critique was the heating. It seemed like heaters didn’t put out consistent heat…but that could’ve been just user error. Nothing bundling up couldn’t fix. Overall a fantastic stay! Would highly recommend and would go again!

The cabin is on a lot with 3 others in very close proximity (2-3ft). Everyone had large barking dogs which made our work remote trip less desirable.
The space is also very small, maneuvering around with 2 people and two dogs was very tight. Not ADA accessible at all.

The breathtaking morning and dawn vistas of the twin lakes and mountains from the kitchen, along with a mesmerizing view of the stars from the living room, made our stay truly special. The well-equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare easy dinners, and the house's cleanliness and comfortable beds ensured a wonderful stay for my husband and me.
We loved our stay at the Moose Cabin! The price
We loved our stay at the Moose Cabin! The price was great for the fall leaf peeping season! The views were amazing and the cabin had everything we needed! We enjoyed meals outside on the table and used the grill for one of them. We loved being able to log into our Netflix in the evening as well and watch our shows! The beds were a little more firm than we are used to, but that would not deter us from staying again. This was a just the 2 of us getaway, but we hope to bring our kids up next summer!

What a great place! The cabin was clean, comfortable, modern and well equipped. I have already started making plans to come back later this year.
With views looking down on the lake, both sunsets and sunrises are spectacular. I've stayed at many vacation rentals and this one is special.

As noted in a couple other reviews, it's in a complex with 3 other cabins right next to it, but each place still had its own parking and none has connected walls. The view over the lake with the mountains right there was incredible. Lots of good hikes in the area. There is a small general store in Twin Lakes, but not much else. It's less than a <30 minute drive into Leadville though.
The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. The host was quickly responsive to messages.
I took a couple points off of cleanliness because there was dust caked on the fans and you could see some other areas that could use some dusting.
Overall it was a great cabin in an awesome location up in the mountains, and I'd highly recommend it!

The cabin was nice, although it is around 3 or 4 other cabins sharing the same land, so we had to close the curtains to all the windows otherwise anybody walking to their cabin could see in. Otherwise it was great!

Overall a great stay! There were a few things that were a little inconvenient like the screen door not sliding and falling off and deck heater not working, but overall a great stay!

Moose Cabin was just the right size and location for our family vacation in the month of June. Close to hiking trails on Mt. Elbert, Leadville, Arkansas River. Added bonus of the cabin was the washer and dryer, which were perfect after a day of rafting and wet clothes.

This location is absolutely beautiful! The cabin was warm and inviting even though it was frigid outside. It was a quick drive to the lake which made for insane pictures of the mountains. The cabin had everything we needed to get away from the world for a couple of days but still had wonderful wifi and cell service if we ever needed anything. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions and it made the stay so relaxing. The outdoor area was perfect for sipping hot cocoa and taking in the view and when it got a little too chilly we could cuddle up on the couch with the same view of the mountains. Overall a magnificent stay.

By far the best cabin I have stayed in for the price. Wife and I went on a much needed vacation. Although Twin Lakes itself doesn’t have many restaurants, stores, etc. like the larger towns (Buena Vista, Leadville), it’s not far from them. It’s also incredibly peaceful.

The cabin has a beautiful view and was fairly clean. Make sure you check the bedding to see that it’s clean as our blankets were dirty when we got there. We just washed them instead of bringing it up to the host. The closest gas station and town is 14 miles away so be sure to bring your own groceries and to fill up your gas tank when you can. Our stay was very peaceful and quiet. Overall staying at the cabin was a lovely experience. The cabin was a inconvenient distance from town and from bigger cities, but it would be the perfect stay for someone who wants to get away.

The place was very clean and as you see from all the other reviews the view is amazing. We also felt the area was safe. The water pressure was so great (rain shower too)! The couch isnt too comfortable but you’re not spending too much time watching tv in this beautiful location! Lastly, if you have an infant with you like we did, the pack n play will only fit in the queen room. Therefore the king bed went unused during our stay.

The Moose Cabin in Twin Lakes was located in a beautiful area with great views of the lakes out the back door. The cabin was a short 15-20 minute drive to Leadville and about 25 minutes to BV and all the outdoor activities you would want within a 30 minute drive.

We LoVED this property ! We celebrated my husbands 40th birthday weekend with our dog .we were lucky enough to be the only ones out of the 4 cabins and had the place to ourselves . We stayed in Moose & had more room than we expected .had everything we needed for grilling ,snacking & hiking . Panoramic views & 5 minute drive down to twin lakes beach was the best . We will be back during summer & fall . Excellent !!!

The cabin has incredible views of the tallest mountains in Colorado and it's really all times of the day. 6am sunrise of the peaks, clear beautiful cold 10am morning, sunset, stars at night. Amazing location! The cabin was perfect for a romantic getaway. We loved crashing in the TV room & slept great on the King bed. You could do 4 people in here, not a ton of room for 4 but the main events are outdoors anyways.

Easy access via a short drive to lots of great trails and the lakes. The cabin was just right for us and as great amenities, everything was well stocked and very clean. Great communication with the host too! Would happily stay here again.

I absolutely loved this place it was a phenomenal stay in an amazing location and I will absolutely be back! It has a 5 star view and is in a nice quite location although you have neighbors in close by cabins it feels very private and quite even if they are all occupied we stayed for 3 nights and the stay was extremely comfortable and they have everything needed for cooking cleaning and entertainment when in the cabin. 40 minutes from very affordable ski cooper which we loved and in the summer I’m quite sure the place has more to offer then you could indulge in!

If you are looking for a more remote location with spectacular views, this is a great choice! Awesome location of hiking Mt. Elbert or Mt. Massive but still enough to Leadville for food, etc. Units are close together, so be courteous of neighbors and mindful of noise.

The view of Twin Lakes was beautiful! The cabin was clean, well stocked, and the perfect size! I will definitely stay here again! My only slight complaint is that the directions seemed to leave off a left turn onto Ross, which turns into Pan Ark - we ended up in the bad place, but figured it out eventually!

This is a gorgeous spot to getaway in the mountains of colorado. there are wonderful hikes nearby and the absolute BEST place to visit to see fall foliage. My mom and I had a wonderful stay in the Moose Cabin and hope to return one day! Leadville is also decently close by and that’s always a fun time as well. Definitely would love to stay here again. Great accommodations there to cook a nice meal as well. Thank you!

The location is beautiful - you can see out onto the twin lakes and mountains all around from the front of the house. It was the perfect launch pad for hiking Mt. Elbert and close to Mt. Massive, Mt. Plata, and many others as well. Would also recommend kayaking twin lakes if you get a chance.

Extraordinary place to stay! The view while eating breakfast simply cannot be beaten. Easy access to Twin Lakes, beautiful hiking nearby or simply walk along the dirt path for great views. The cabin itself has everything you need to cook plus a w/d! Water pressure in the bathroom was very strong! I did work while I was there. Wifi was fine for general browsing and work, but I connected to my hot spot for video calls and screen sharing.
